Review on Nanorobots

Nowadays, the use of Nanorobots has been popular in the field of medicine. This is most prominent due to the possibility of highly-targeted delivery of medical payloads, an outcome that could help to reduce side effects and regulate the need for invasive procedures. But, how these microscopic particles can best navigate the body’s fluids is a huge area of focus for the research scientists. Researchers have found a new technique that allows nanorobots to swim swiftly through the fluids like blood to reach their destination.

One amongst them shared their insights with us, here what Adam has to say, “That’s it! I imagine a pen with electromagnet, capable enough to generate various magnetic fields that deal with different behaviour aspects of nanorobots. Then you would need sophisticated real time body scanning technique which would indicate where nanorobots are or you would simply handle a magnetic pen and give directions to nanorobots in patient’s body looking at scanner. Then you could even equip nanorobots with parts sensitive to magnetic field and order these parts to move when magnetic field change. Quite complicated but without a miniaturisation of electronics that’s the best way i think.”

Though still in the initial stage of development, nanoparticles are gaining a reputation of being potential multi-tools for combating things like infections, cancer, type 1 diabetes and even prising open the blood-brain barrier. But they generally can’t be simply inserted into the body and left to their own devices, which is why we’re seeing the development of techniques aimed at getting them to where they need to go.
